Find Your Legislator

Who represents me? In North Carolina each citizen is represented by two U.S. Senators, one U.S. Representative, one N.C. Senator and one N.C. Representative. (Go to the voter registration page at the State Board of Elections if you are not registered to vote.) If you are registered to vote, follow these simple steps to find who represents you:

1. You can find your districts by visiting the State Board of Elections Voter Lookup page and entering your name, birthdate, and zip code. After you press submit, your personal voter information will be presented. Below that information click on the “My Districts” link. You will see a page with your precinct number at the top, and a list of all your districts. You should be able to print this page.
2. Next, visit the North Carolina General Assembly Representation page. Here you can enter the district numbers and find the names of your legislators.
3. We encourage you to write their names down for current and future reference. You may also wish to add them to your prayer list.

Contact Your Legislator

When you know your legislative districts and your legislators names, a visit to the General Assembly website is the fastest way to contact your legislators. Each member of the House and Senate have their own page listing their information. Here are direct links to a list of Senators and Representatives.

Contact the Governor

Most bills that pass the General Assembly can be assigned or vetoed by the Governor. Please go here to contact the Governor’s office. You will find various methods to communicate your requests to the Governor.
