Sanctity of Human Life Day - Jan 20

Special Report - January 2, 2008

On Sunday, January 20, pro-life advocates in North Carolina will join with others from across the nation in recognition of Sanctity of Human Life Day. This day, which has been set aside to honor the precious gift of life, coincides with the anniversary of the United States Supreme Court’s twin decisions in Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton that legalized abortion on demand in our country.

In preparation for this event, the North Carolina Family Policy Council has prepared a three-and-a-half-minute DVD that you can present to your church on Sanctity of Human Life Day. This stirring message is designed to inform concerned citizens about the need to understand and take action on issues of life. To view the video online, click here. To order a free copy of the DVD to show at your church, contact the North Carolina Family Policy Council by email at admin@ncfamily.org or by phone at (919) 807-0800.

Sanctity of Human Life Day has been recognized by President George W. Bush. His 2007 Proclamation states in part:

America was founded on the principle that we are all endowed by our Creator with the right to life and that every individual has dignity and worth. National Sanctity of Human Life Day helps foster a culture of life and reinforces our commitment to building a compassionate society that respects the value of every human being.

National Sanctity of Human Life Day serves as a reminder that we must value human life in all forms, not just those considered healthy, wanted, or convenient. Together, we can work toward a day when the dignity and humanity of every person is respected.
