Abortion's Link to Pre-Term Birth, Part 2

This week on “Family Policy Matters,” NCFPC president John Rustin continues a discussion he began last week with Martin McCaffrey, MD, clinical professor of pediatrics at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, and the Director of the Perinatal Quality Collaborative of North Carolina. Dr. McCaffrey discusses the association between prior abortions and later pre-term birth, which he highlights in the article he wrote for the latest issue of Family North Carolina, the Council’s quarterly magazine. He also talks about important legislation currently before the North Carolina General Assembly that would educate high school students about the various risks for pre-term birth, including abortion.
