On June 3, 2002 a diverse group of public policy research organizations came together at the Legislative Building in Raleigh for a press conference to discuss issues surrounding a state lottery. Kim Cartron with the North Carolina Budget and Tax Center provides the introduction to the press conference and outlines to the media what is to come. Five leading public policy organizations came together to share their consensus that a lottery would not be good for the citizens of North Carolina. The lottery is no easy answer to budget problems.
